Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

We offer:

• High-Impact Event response and recovery support for organizations
• Grief, loss, and life changes support for individuals
• Education and workshops for organizations

All services are structured, short-term, and non-clinical.

Is this therapy?

No. These services are not therapy.

The support provided through Trevino & Starr Associates LLC is structured, short-term, non-clinical support designed to help individuals and teams process grief, loss, or high-impact events.

While Nikki Trevino is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas, services offered through this practice are not psychotherapy and do not involve diagnosis, medical treatment, or insurance-billed mental health services.

If clinical therapy is needed, appropriate referrals can be provided.

Do you bill insurance?

No.

These services are private-pay only and are not billed to insurance companies. Because this is non-clinical support, there are no diagnostic codes, treatment plans submitted to insurance, or mental health records shared with third parties.

This structure allows for greater flexibility, discretion, and simplicity for individuals and organizations

Are services confidential?

Yes.

Conversations are treated with professional discretion and respect for privacy. While these services are non-clinical, professional standards of confidentiality are maintained

Limits to confidentiality include situations involving imminent risk of harm to self or others, abuse of a vulnerable person, or when required by law.

For corporate engagements, no individual employee information is shared with leadership without explicit permission.

Do you work with EAPs?

We collaborate with organizations that may or may not offer EAP benefits, and can coordinate referrals when ongoing counseling is appropriate. Our services are designed to complement, not replace, existing mental health resources.

Our services are distinct from traditional EAP counseling and can function as:

• A complement to existing EAP benefits
• Immediate response support before formal counseling begins
• A bridge to additional care when needed
